...What is A Spirit LIVE Jam?
Spirit LIVE Jam IS where LOVE in MOTION AWAKENS!
Every time is different depending on who is called to show up to move and be moved and what they release to the dance or receive from the dance!
I believe it truly is Improvisation in the Moment <> Self Expression at it's BEST! >>>>>RELEASING RECEIVING RENEWING<<<<<<<<YES!
The night begins at 7:30 pm with a warm up of welcoming, stretching, and breathing activities for the first 10 - 20 minutes depending on the need or size of the gathered evening "guests".
Participants on this journey inward are then asked to come into stillness. Laying down on the wood floor often happens here, so bring a yoga mat or towel if you would be more comfortable. A vocalized music meditation using crystal singing bowls and Tibetan brass singing bowls invites more stretching and exploration while all are being held by the "earth". Chairs if preferred, are always close by. Slowly, you are guided in moving from sitting to standing as the music passes from an etherial opening to the addition of a pulse. This “heart beat” resonates within and invites the impulse to move and awaken in a new way, a core way, perhaps unfelt in sometime. This section lasts for about 10 - 20 minutes, again depending upon the collective group dynamic.
The following facilitation over the rest of the evening is carried by the rhythm and the melodies created by the musicians, inspired by the movement of the dancers, and reflected back and forth between the two again and again! This is the ENERGETIC MAGIC, THE SYNERGY, that unfolds throughout the night in this: THE AWE-MAZING FLOW!
-There are also gentle reminders during the evening to breathe while moving - to check in - to release sounds - with calls and with responses.
-Props are available to enliven and open ALL to their inner dancer.
-A table with paper to journal and crayons to color your impressions, insights, and new intentions is always accessible.
-Vocalizations of long tones throughout the night are encouraged.
The goal at the evening’s finale is for ALL to have had the opportunity to express themselves through their fluidity in motion and sound self! A powerful synergy grows between the dancers and musicians in this surging exchange of energy inspiring a co-leading of the night! A true sound movement cOMmUNITY is created! Participants of ALL AGES are engaged fully as the evening's journey is gently facilitated keeping this precious container of grace and moving beings fluid and safe.
The rhythms, dynamics, and textures of the music all shift and change, rising to crescendo and softening to peace several times over the night during this hour to 60 min long section.
The final 10-20 minutes moves from a group exchange back to an individual checking in with "Who Are YOU Now?" coming into stillness once again in gratitude for the journey, for the partnership, for the releasing, the receiving, the inner and outer connection to source and the all important preparation to bring it hOMe and into our world!

This is what Spirit LIVE Jam is to me and to those that have shared their closing offerings. It is an improvisational dance and music night, but it truly is so much more! I hope you and ALL you encourage to come, will add your own unique movement piece/Peace and Beauty to our night together! It IS deLIGHTfully FUN!!!! Plus the talented group of improvisation musicians are AWE-MAZIN’! They play and sing transporting us on their carpet of sound vibrations embracing all the colors and textures of their own unique voices which include those of the drums, piano, flute, keyboard, guitars: electric and classical, mellow trumpet, Native American flutes, crystal singing bowls, harmonium, shruti box, vibes, and hand and body percussion from all over the world! AWE-MAZIN’ YES!!!!
